The operation WINEPLAN - Methodologies for Public Administrations and Local Development Agencies for the co-ordinated sustainable management of wine producing regions focuses on equipping public administrations and agencies in wine producing regions with new strategy-based approaches to the development of their regions, taking into account concepts such as sustainable development, landscape protection, quality management, alternative income opportunities, involvement of stakeholders and good governance, regional identities and innovative place-marketing. Overall objective / Objectif général The overall objective of the WINEPLAN project is the exchange and dissemination of innovative methodologies for an integrated regional management to support policies for the sustainable development in wine producing regions. Specific objectives are the elaboration, implementation and improvement of new or improved development strategies, policies and actions, including targeted measures for wine-producing and tourism-based SMEs, and the development or improvement of communication and promotion strategies and pilot actions. Expected results / Résultats attendus The operation will result in an increased level of know-how of the partnership as well as improved partnership and co-ordination between public and private actors in the partner regions. It will strengthen the capacities of the participating regions to improve their quality management, foster sustainable development and protect their cultural landscape, and build and project an attractive and competitive image, based on wine-production and tourism.
