Methodische Alternativen für Unterricht und Schule => MAUS
Start date: Jun 26, 2014, End date: Jun 25, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

At the Westfalen-Kolleg Paderborn, MAUS is part of the school's educational programme concentrating on innovation. For a fairly long time several teams at the Westfalen-Kolleg have continued developing this educational programme and their work has become an integral part of the teachers' educational efforts. The teams DROP-OUT, INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES and EUROPEAN PERSPECTIVES have continuously been working out extensive concepts with regard to their respective subject matters. MAUS is a further subject in the work of these groups accentuating the transnational perspective of our progressing work. In this context, concepts and programmes of European partners are looked through, evaluated and are possibly adapted. Thus, MAUS means a consistent increase of the general European educational programme that has had a permanent place at the Westfalen-Kolleg Paderborn for 20 years. At the same time MAUS is an innovative extension concerning the work of each of the different teams that have become firmly established at the Westfalen-Kolleg. Thus it is highly important to foster the relationships with the partners of our European network in order to be able to exchange experiences and to learn from each other. The curricular and educational conditions in these countries differ from those in Northrhein-Westphalia; also the ideas and approaches concerning topics of everyday learning differ from those well-known and tested out here. Consequently, one must check in how far ideas and assessments of European partners can be „imported“. So, in the coming two years, when six colleagues seize the opportunity to get to know such approaches new to them in order to assess the usefulness for their own educational work, the “European value” of such mobility will come into effect directly and in practice.
