Regarding the permanently growing requirements within the field of foreign language teaching our school (administration and teaching staff) see it as necessary to sustainably improve language fluency and methodological competency of our English teachers, in order to ensure the quality and modernity of the foreign language teaching at our school. All eight participating colleagues are teaching on an advanced secondary level of a vocational college, job specific contents as well as general contents of the foreign language classroom. The teachers training of the colleagues was several years ago, therefore updating their linguistic, cultural and methodological knowledge would be desirable. The conference of the language teachers has decided that the colleagues should attend different trainings in the field "Methods in foreign language teaching". The courses should meet the specific concerns of the school and take into consideration the actual implementation into daily teaching practice. Benefits for the participants (teachers): - the implementation and usage of new methods and teaching in the foreign language will improve - their own language fluency will increase due to real communication - the exchange of ideas and the change of perspectives help to develop new perceptions - enhancement of the cultural and intercultural competencies Benefits for the school: - general enhancement of the foreign language teaching at our school - enabling new partnerships with other schools through the exchange of shared interests -> in case, project orientated cooperation on a European basis. Our school is currently taking part in a Comenius-programme. With the help of the trainings contacts to potential new partner schools could be established.
