'Metal Joven': Needs analysis, training itineraries and pedagogical materials for the metal sector

The aim of this project is to adapt vocational training for metal workers at the production line to the new technological, production and organisational changes affecting the sector. The idea behind this project is to qualify and retrain personnel in metal factories in the various partners' regions that are finding it increasingly difficult to find workers that meet the required criteria. The partnership aims to provide comparable competencies through parallel vocational training across the different regions involved. Expected results include: a situation analysis report; a comparative study of current vocational profiles and development of new professional profiles, in close collaboration with industry; vocational training; creation of vocational training itineraries organised in modules that respond to new qualifications. The final training products will be available in CD ROM format in Spanish, French and Italian. Trainees and trainers are the direct beneficiaries of this project. National policy-making bodies responsible for education and labour will be provided with updated profiles and training information. These references should contribute to updating the certified qualifications currently in place.
