Mémoire interculturelle : du passé vers l’avenir
Start date: Aug 1, 2014, End date: Jan 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

FAEL is an associations’ federation of Spanish immigrants living in Luxembourg. It was found at the end of 70s after a copious coming of Spanish immigrants who escaped from the franquism dictatorship. As of today it represents six associations and his main goal is to defend the economic, politic and social interests of Spanish immigrants and to value their culture through different activities. The volunteers are called to join the two mains activities of the FAEL, “Cuisine du Monde” and “Memoria”. The Cuisine du Monde is a monthly intercultural project whose aim is to put in contact people from different countries by cooking and tasting traditional dishes. The project “Memoria” collects all the proofs of the Spanish immigration in Luxembourg and the volunteers’ task will be to keep on archiving all the documents, photos and posters. Furthermore, all concerned the media communication is also a volunteers’ charge. They will have, for example, to update the web page and the social medias groups and pages; they will have to send press communication and upgrade the association’s mailing list. Moreover they can take part, if they are interested, in the radio program “El Balcon” bringing their contribution and their ideas. Eventually FAEL, as part of the Maison des Associations asbl, an association composed by five federations of immigrants, shares with them the organization of others intercultural and intergenerational projects. The volunteers, if interested, have the opportunity to be involved in intergenerational ateliers of debates, movies forecasting for elderly people, literal meetings and radio programs on the immigration and intercultural issues.
