Mejoramos con Europa
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Pre-primary and Primary School Emilio Carmona develops and Erasmus+ project whose main idea is the development some of our staff´s proffessional competences. Our European Development Plan aims at the achievement of teaching quality in our everyday work and enhances the developmnet of those aspects of our teaching practise which should be improved, especially those that we lack, and are related to internationalisation and the development of international awareness. Our mobility two-year plan has already accomplished the two flows planned. The first flow involved two teachers and the second flow involved three teachers from our school, both set of mobilities took place during the summers 2014 and 2015, so the impact of the teachers' absence to the school was the lowest possible, since by that time our students were on holiday. These teachers were chosen after a selection process and according to their high level of motivation and compromise with our centre´s development plan. Their profile is similar and has to do with an acceptable knowledge of English, problem-solving, organizational skills, eager to share acquired knowledge, eager to include new technogolies in the classroom and develop our European project "Mejoramos con Europa" The contents of the courses met our necessities, which had been previously detected, namely: refresh and revitalise teaching strategies and techniques, update classroom skills, learn how to integrate technology into lessons, deepen in the knowledge of contemporary British culture and civilisation, strengthen intercultural awareness, assessment of speaking skills. These seminars became a great opportunity to engage with like-minded professionals from all over the world and rekindle our staff´s passion for teaching. Finally, these courses have effectively contributed to the achievement of our final goals: the improvement of the quality of our teaching and the development of a European awareness in our school. Once these training activities were finished, the teachers who took part in the different teacher training activities gave training sessions to their colleagues at school and lead workshops or seminars on what they have learnt so as to reach as many people as possible in our school community and in our village by disseminating widely the activities, outcomes, ideas and skills ( blogs, local mass media,...). Furthermore, during the project lifetime the participants updated any of our project details in the Erasmus+ Dissemination Platform. The final achievement of our goals will hopefully lead to a cooperation association in which our school will work with others in order to gain quality and best practise in education (KA2, being all as part of a wider and long-term strategy of development and modernisation in our school)
