Mejora de las competencias lingüísticas y metodológicas para la implantación del Proyecto Plurilingüe y el crecimiento de la dimensión europea del centro.
Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: Aug 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

In the 21st century, all European citizens must acquire linguistic competences in different languages. One of the main objectives in the Strategic Plan of our school is to make our students to improve their competence in English by introducing this language in non-linguistic subjects. Since some of our teachers already have the legal requirements to teach their subjects in a foreign language, this project aims to contribute to the acquisition of the necessary competences to the teachers who participate in the project, as well as for the rest of the staff in order to introduce a new methodology approach in our classrooms, which will permit us to implement a multilingual programme successfully in our centre. The introduction of the CLIL approach (Content and Language Integrated Learning) responds to these needs and it is a big step towards the innovation that our school defends. The second objective of our project is that our teachers acquire more abilities and competences in the planning of future Erasmus+ KA2 European projects, in order to widespread the European dimension of our centre through the interaction of all members of our school community with our European partners. The participants in the mobility are two teachers who show a high degree of compromise and motivation in the targets of our project. They will not only have to lead the process of introducing the multilingual programme in our school, but also the setting up of international relationships with other European teachers to start short term future European projects. They both certify a high level of English and one of them an intermediate level in German. The participants will be able to acquire the theoretical and practical knowledge which will help them in the introduction of this new methodology in their lessons and in the implementation the multilingualism project in our school, thanks to the job shadowing period of 12 days in our partner school, which offers us an extensive experience in this field as well as the possibility of working together with experienced teachers. Moreover, the fact that we have had an exchange project with our partner school and the good relationships established among the teachers involved in it will certainly guarantee a good collaboration and the success in the project we are applying for.Regarding the teacher’s training activities; the participants will attend two workshops organized by NEOS (Network of Europe Oriented Schools). They will last two days each and they focus on the detection of strengths and weaknesses of other projects carried out by other schools previously, so that this analysis will result in the improvement of future projects. These workshops will also benefit the establishment of new contacts and alliances among European schools to choose a topic and the guide lines for future Erasmus+ KA2 exchanges.Furthermore, the knowledge achieved in CLIL approach and European project planning will influence the entire staff in our school, since the transfer of this knowledge will be guaranteed by the participants in a training course. In addition, this experience will be shared with other schools (Fundación Colegios Diocesanos – Valencia, a network of more than 40 schools) through the some good practice dissemination sessions that take place once a year. Finally, we want to implement a solid multilingual project based on innovative and experimented approaches which will provide our students with the necessary linguistic competence to improve their knowledge in the English language. It will also help them grow in any labour, cultural or artistic aspect in any European country.
