Project "Meet Turkey" responds to current needs and situation in Czech Republic, which is specified by decline of tolerance between different cultures and lack of interest of young people in field of meaningful and creative use of their leisure time.The aim of the project was to host one foreign volunteer for 12 months in Dům dětí a mládeže in Český Těšín. Main tasks of the volunteer within the hosting in DDM were to organizace the leisure activities for children and youth, to participate and to lead the regular activities for them, meeting with local youth and public and present her own culture and EVS projects. Volunteer got the space for realization own projects and ideas to the maximum extend. The goal of project was especially to involve the volunteer into the daily life of our organisation and city, to help her the cultural shock and provide her the space for self-realization and experience gaining. The further project goal was to offer to local children, youth and public the direct contact with the foreigner and foreign cultur and contribute to its understanding. Volunteer got the full support from side of sending and hosting organisation, fully available were to her was EVS coordinator and her personal mentor. Volunteer was fully involved into the regular and irregular activities of hosting organisation during the whole year, she activelly participated in their preparation, organisation and leading. She was activ especially in language courses, sport and creative activities. Volunteer had also more opportunities to present her culture, organized workshops with own topics for local youth and children. Volunteer within her activities cooperated with other volunteers or volunteering organisations from our city and its surrounding. She cooperated for example with local highschools, NGO Petrklíč HELP, with libraries in Třinec and Karviná and their ICMs.
