Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Project background : With the changes in the regional labour markets into a European labour market the requirements at our school have changed. Our school should and wants to prepare our pupils for Europe and for the European labour market. That is why the teachers‘ intercultural and project management skills have to be significantly improved. Intercultural skills are a multidisciplinary competence and an essential part of a Europe open school. The skills should be learned in intercultural training courses and project management training courses . Important for us is that our teachers attend the courses together with teachers from other countries , so that the cross-cultural learning can not only take place during the training course period, but also during the whole duration of the project. At the same time our teachers have the opportunity to intensively meet potential project partners and plan with them school exchanges , e- twinning or job shadowing on the course and afterwards thru presentations, evaluation and disemintation Project goals: Foundation of a school Erasmus+ team thru improvement of intercultural skills and project management skills of 9 teachers from different professional background and field (humanistic, science, languages). The 9 participating teachers are: - willing to attend training courses abroad, - have sufficient language skills, - willing to spread the European idea to colleagues and pupils, - willing to integrate the European idea in teaching. Gained knowledge and competences will be multiplied thru the new established team on the whole school (staff and pupils) and integrate european projects into short- and longterm strategies and goals of the school. Description of measures: - preparation of the participants for the intercultural project courses in Portugal and travel arrangements, - intercultural project courses in Portugal, - the enhanced intercultural and project management competences will facilitate the ongoing work of the teachers who will multiply the competences into the work of their colleagues and pupils - establishment of the school Erasmus+ team, - gradual expansion of European cooperation in the coming years, - evaluation, dissemination and reporting. Methodology for project implementation: Project approach in planning of all activities – participation in intercultural project management courses and preparation for the courses, follow-up of the project with evaluation (interviews, surveys) and dissemination with workshops and presentation. With that approach and with methods used in intercultural courses, the teachers will afterwards institutionalise the enhanced competences in the European project work that will so become a significant part of curricular and other activities on the school. With the training courses intercultural competence shall be implemented in lessons and with the project management skills of teachers. Description of the expected results, effects and potential long-term benefits: The seminar and project experience will boost the motivation for intercultural learning and intercultural cooperation and the work at the school with European projects will be more effective. The training will enable teachers to inspire our teaching staff even more for European projects, and to use the project work as a means to expand the intercultural, language and social skills of our pupils. An Erasmus+ team will be established to multiply the enhanced competences and support the work in the field of international and intercultural projects. By expanding these skills our pupils will be better prepared in the future for the demands of the European and international labour market and our school will be recognized as a reliable partner in European projects .
