The project Med-RISK aims at solving the unsatisfactory synergy of systems for rational management of natural risks in the ArchiMed area. The Mediterranean zone is an intensely developing region in the sectors of industry and tourism with millions of visitors from all over the world. At the same time, natural disasters do not any longer concern only the state in which they occur since it affects simultaneously different geographical regions, overlapping the national borders. The eligible region of ArchiMed has to solve, in the direct future, the unsatisfactory synergy, operation of systems of risk prevention that threatens the environment and rational management of natural risks. Objectives 1. Interconnection and Joint Policy of Operational Centers in different countries for crises management 2. Creation of scenarios and better planning of Civil Protection at every level of administrative structure 3. Information the public Expected Results: 1. A textbook for the ideal management structure and necessary infrastructure for a natural risk operational control center 2. Development of a common GIS database at 1:50000 scale for the identification of environmental risks and classification of information on the available materials and means used for the confrontal of natural risks. 3. Development of plans for the readiness and practice of institutions and authorities at every level of administrative structure 4. Creation of Learn-How-To-Protect maps placed in dominant place, informative booklets, CDs, DVDs about natural disasters
