The proposed project is part of the ongoing effort of our school, "Ausbau des Medienkonzeptes JAG", to provide students and teachers of Josef-Albers-Gymnasium (Josef-Albers higher secondary school) with the tools they need to succesfully employ different media in learning and teaching. To this end, the proposed project will fund the training of three members of the school staff in the methodology of media-based learning. The project will be conducted in three steps. In a first step, the participants will be selected, the necessary travel arrangements will be made and a suitable training programme will be chosen. This will be done by the school administration. The second step consists of the mobility project, an international teacher training programme, which will take place in Cyprus. The final, and most important step of the project, consists of spreading and evaluating the results of the mobility project. This will be achieved by several means. The participants will conduct in-house training sessions for other teachers of our school in the course of a “Pädagogischer Tag”, a regular conference and training session at our school. We will also be establishing the participants of the teacher training programme as the school's experts on the methodology of media-based learning environments. The evaluation of the project will be most likely conducted as part of a broader survey on the school’s progress, a survey which has already been succesfully conducted before. We expect that this project will activate our teachers in the short term and will lead to an increase in media-based learning activities. In the long-term, we also expect an increase in the quality of the lessons at our school. Thus, it is our goal to enhance the school and its staffs' and students' ability to master the challenges of teaching and learning in the 21st century.
