MEDIA – Media-based Entrepreneurial Development of Initiative Adolescence
Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

According to the objectives of European policies in the fields of education entrepreneurship education is more than preparation on how to run a business but it is about how to develop a general set of competences applicable in all walks of life. Moreover, on the ground of recent researches and the long teaching experience of the project partners we have come to a conclusion that early school leaving has a tight connection to the changes in the world perception of adolescents, as well as in their ways for receiving and treating new information. i.e. they receive the world through different types of media. As today's adolescent should be the future consumer and also entrepreneur we see that the entrepreneurial education cannot be without media education. Thus, the basic idea of our project is to develop, test and implement innovative practices in education to TURN ENTERPRENEURAL IDEAS of adolescents INTO ACTION by means of NEW MEDIA TOOLS and APPLICATIONS. Moreover, our project aims at developing 21st century pedagogy by creating the Cluster Of Media-based Entrepreneurial Education (O1) which will be a platform for regular interaction and exchanging practices within local, national and international school community on issues of media-based entrepreneurial education along with supporting cultural awareness in European dimensions and new understanding of connections (accessibility) by creating an educational online HTML5 game on startup culture. There will be 7 participants cooperating from six different countries covering not only general education but also vocational education: Latvia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Italy, Poland and Finland. The project activities two aspects: 1. joint project works of groups of pupils; 2. development of educational platform and game. The project will have long term benefits because it will start a new praxis and inquiry based approach aspect in entrepreneurial education involving stakeholders not only from education field but also from other fields, e.g. business incubators, non-profit organizations, companies and SMEs.
