Project May the heART be with you is a 9-day international youth exchange with 24 participants, aged between 16 and 21 years from 4 countries, which will be held in Slovenia, Zagorje ob Savi. Through activities based on art and music we will address the themes: communication, intercultural learning and developing a sense of community. All this in order to create a positive attitude towards refugees and drawing attention to growth of intolerance and negative attitude in society towards other cultures. By participating in this project, participants will gain several competencies, make progress on a personal level and thus become more competitive on the European labour market. The initiative for the project came from the youngsters, the project objectives are: to create the final product, which draws attention to the intolerance in society; to organize at least one public event where participants present the final product; create newspaper "zine"; record a short film about the youth exchange; to issue 24 Youthpass certificates. Participants come from Poland, Portugal, Slovenia and Italy, from each country 6 participants of different social backgrounds. Five youngsters per team will be aged between 16 and 21 years, each team will have one leader who must be an adult and can be older than 21 years. Target group are primarily young people who like to express themselves through music and art, which are eager for a intercultural experience, who are interested in teamwork and communication in English. It is also desirable that they are interested in exploring currently the most pressing topics in Europe (the refugee crisis) and to develop a more positive attitude towards diversity. The main activities will take place in the field of communication, intercultural learning and developing a sense of community; in all its activities the participants are invited to co-create them. All activities will be coloured with music, art, theatre and creativeness, learning will be non-formal, peer-to-peer, experiential and practical (learning by doing). We believe that the participants will be more aware in identifying hate speech, they will increase the understanding of other cultures and nations and will become more creative, all due to this international experience. The project will have a supportive and motivational impact on local youth and volunteers of the youth centre. Applicants and other participating organizations will improve their visibility, strengthen the international dimension and cooperation with the Youth Centre Zagorje ob Savi.
