Four groups of 4 Dutch participants are going to assist in "Matigol"; a sports development programme with poor (working)children and youngsters in the department of Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. Of each group 1 participant will have fewer possibilities due to fysical problems or educational problems. Each group will stay in Guatemala for 3 months in a volunteer house of the project. The first 2 weeks will be used to learn Spanish and to learn more about the culture by attending workshops given by people of local NGO's.Matigol is a project that started in 2010 and aims at underpriviliged mostly "working" children form poor neighboorhoods. The sportsprogramme helps them to develop themselves in a personal and healthy way. For this EVS programme also local handicapped youngsters of the programme "Fundabien" will be involved in the project. The volunteers will organise discussions with these handicapped youngsters about having fewer possibilities, about possibilities and differences between Europe and Guatemala.
