Start date: Sep 19, 2016, End date: Sep 18, 2021 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) on Work, Organizational, and Personnel Psychology (WOP-P) is a 120 ECTS Master course that aims to provide excellent experts in WOP-P for an increasingly globalized socio-economic context. It is implemented by an International Consortium. European partner institutions are: University of Valencia (Coordinating Institution), University of Bologna; University of Barcelona, and University of Coimbra. Non-European partners are: University of Guelph, University of Brasilia, University of Baltimore, University of Puerto Rico, Florida Institute of Technology, and Illinois Institute of Technology. The University of Valencia issues a joint diploma on behalf of European awarding institutions. The employability of the WOP-P Master is high. Two general employability tracks are considered: a) as a practitioner; and b) as a researcher. Taking into account the great importance of the practitioner employability track, the Master makes an important effort to facilitate international professional internships that are welcome by the business community. Regarding the research employability track, the student has to interact with two tutors of two different countries to prepare the master thesis, permitting the familiarization with requirements of international research requirements. The Master takes into account different aspects. First, it differentiates between and encompasses the three fields of the discipline: work, organizational, and personnel psychology. Second, it distinguishes between activities emphasizing the “explanatory scientific” approach to human behavior and contexts, and those emphasizing intervention. Third, it follows well-recognized efforts at the European level such as the EUROPSY education and professional competencies model for the European Certificate of Psychology, supported by the European Federation of Psychology Associations (EFPA), and the Specialist EuroPsy Certificate in WOP Psychology. Fourth, the Master adheres to the scientist-practitioner model, integrating science and practice in a mutual interaction. The Master not only includes evidence-based contents, but these contents are also combined with methodology and research activities. Finally, new developments in traditional WOP-P topics are combined with emergent ones such as sustainability; Innovation and entrepreneurship; multiculturalism and global thinking; and diversity.Multicultural skills and competencies are especially reinforced. From the beginning, the student is forced to work in teams where classmates from other countries and cultures also participate. This intercultural awareness process is especially trained during the Winter School of the Master. To participate in this activity, students are incorporated in multicultural teams, and they have to cooperate to achieve shared objectives. This strategy facilitates a context that is similar to international and multicultural scenarios where the future WOP psychologists work
