The public youth work in Markt Goldbach has been cooperating in the frame of EVS projects for many years. The local municipality decided to invite the volunteer from the partner community in France (Courselle sur Mere). As in the old program the Jugendbildungsstätte Unterfranken will be the coordinating organization and Cimit (old Senois) will be the sending in that project. The aim is to deepen the cooperation between the two regions in the field of youth work and possible to organize new projects. The volunteer will come in September 2014 for 12 months to Goldbach and will spend his/her EVS in the local school and the youth centre. In the school the volunteer will be involved in the afternoon childcare where he/she can also propose some language animation activities. The youth centre is open place where young people come regularly to spend their afternoon. After a orientation phase the volunteer will have the possibility and time to propose his own projects. In the centre the volunteer can bring his own skills to spend with the youngsters their free time in creative and active way. During school holidays the youth centre offers different activities for local children and youth. Both of the institutions as well as the volunteer are very involved in the life of the community. The volunteer will get a flat in the city hall and will be supported by the city mayor and his wife. The volunteer will be very involved in the local community, will help by the local events (like family day, carnival). The presence of the French volunteer is very visible and wanted in the community. The intercultural learning forms the basic for the tolerant and respectful living together. It will be visible in the daily life of the co-workers, children and youth from different countries and cultures. The volunteer is part of the team and will be encouraged to realize his/her own projects. A regular guidance and reflection with the volunteer are fixed components of the EVS projects.
