The project “Montagna Mare” is a Group EVS activity which will be primarly organized by the NGO “HELP” in Split (Croatia) as hosting and coordinating organization, and sending organizations from Spain (Lleure Actiu from Mallorca), Italy (ARCI Strauss from Sicily) , Germany (ICJA Freiwilligenaustausch weltweit e.V.) France (Association CALLIOPE from Grenoble) and Finland (Lahden Kaupunki from Lahti). In the project will involve10 volunteers, and service for each of them will last for 11 months in HELP, Split. We seek to address the issue surrounding youth employability, mobility and participation in society, and rthere for enabling the youth to be more competitive tomorrow with the labor market. The objectives of this project are to promote intercultural dialogue, non-formal education, training in foreign languages, develop solidarity and promote tolerance among young people, in particular to foster an understanding of social cohesion in the European Union as well as foster social inclusion into the population which is usually marginalized from society (e.g. marginalized population, people from undeveloped rural or isolated areas like islands, youth from dysfunctional families, long term unemployed youth, etc). The main outcomes expected with this project are to:- Increase the awareness about international opportunities, available for Croatian youth and organizations - Stimulate awareness and reflection on differences and similarities in values between different cultures, as a starting point for sharing good case practices and project ideas- Stimulate young people’s self-awareness, responsibility for the world, entrepreneurial attitude and effective communication and improve using foreign languages in order to ensure better competitive ability within and across the labor market and employability The volunteers will have the opportunities to be involved in different activities according to their skills, ability and personal interest: promote and disseminate information about youth mobility and learning opportunities, provide learning opportunities on different topics relevant to youth and local citizens and organizations. Also they will be supported to create their own activities and realize potential new ideas. In conjuction with the above mentioned activities, volunteers will participate in workshops and activities aimed at promoting European values and opportunities offered by EU to youth, developing cooperation between the partner organizations and further afield, as well as finding improved and more effective ways to disseminate relevant information to youth using new media technologies and social networks.Volunteers will also have the opportunity to work in the field of social inclusion and being involved in work with marginalized communities with high risk behaviour (drug users and commercial sex workers).
