Making the closed collection of relics of the 1848-49 Hungarian Revolution and War of Independence accessible to the public (Kultúrkincs48)

The core objective of the project is to preserve and to make available for the public the closed collection of the Relic Museum of Arad, documenting the 1848-1849 Hungarian Revolution and War of Independence. The direct goals of the project are to restore the items of the collection, to prepare publications (catalogues, a collection of documents presenting the 1848-1849 Hungarian Revolution and War of Independence, a collection of documents presenting the history of the museum, other publications), to organize exhibitions in Szeged, Arad and Budapest, as well as to organize an international conference in Szeged. The proposed activities are mainly addressed to the restoration and conservation of the 215 pieces of the collection and the promotion of the exhibits through exhibitions, catalogues and conferences for specialists. The direct target group of the project is formed by Hungarian and Romanian general public, people of other nationalities, museologists, historians, restorers etc.
