The purpose of the MODEST project is to exchange Austrian and Tunisian youth. At around Easter Time (29.03. - 05.04.2015) 20 young people from Austria will travel to Tunesia to meet 20 jung Tunesian people and discuss and learn more about democratic issues. The primary focus of the initiative is the democratization process, which concerns all youth, Austrian and Tunisian. There will be mutual participation in the cultural and political development of both the host and partner country as well as of EU and Mediterranean countries. By visiting the countries the youth will get to know each other as well as both of the cultures and be introduced to the process of a country becoming a democracy. Visiting the Tunisian parliament, as well as having direct contact with Tunisian youth and political leaders shall lead into further events and a return visit. The goal is to promote amicable and personal exchanges and influence the perception by youth regarding current political development in a positive way. Project results will be a video documentary made from country-mixed groups about different issues as well as an art monument in the public space of Nabeul (Nabeul is famous for its ceramic arts).
