Magyar-szlovák agglomeráció Pozsony környékén - Közszolgáltatás fejlesztési hálózat Pozsony határon átnyúló agglomerációjában / Slovensko-Maďarská aglomerácia v okolí Bratislavy - Sieť komunitného rozvoja cezhraničnej aglomerácie Bratislavy (AGGLONET)
Start date: Aug 31, 2009, End date: Oct 30, 2010 PROJECT  FINISHED

The aim of the project is to encourage the development of a smooth cross border agglomeration. On the other hand its aim is the formation of a mutual networking institute which links the cooperation of the actors of the same place with difference linguistic, ethnic and institutional background. It looks for the points in which local government on the cross border areas can cooperate to supply the population living here. Achievements: Bratislava as a dynamically growing city has a suburban area which is also affected by the development of the capital. As the Hungarian border is very close to Bratislava, Hungarian areas also need to be prepared to be able to handle the consequences of this development (public services for Slovak people living in Hungary, opportunities for cross-border networking and cooperation, handling ethnic problems and facilitating the integration of newcomers into the local society). The project aimed to provide answers to these issues by evaluating the situation with questionnaires and workshops involving the population and the local governmental authorities. The output of this research was an action plan for six municipalities (Rajka (HU), Mosonmagyaróvár (HU), Dunakiliti (HU), Šamorín (SK), Podunajské Biskupice (SK), Vojka nad Dunajom (SK)) to be implemented jointly in the follow up period.
