MagicEurope
Start date: Aug 1, 2015, End date: Feb 29, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our project MagicEurope was an eight-sided youth exchange, carried out between 11-17 November 2015. The main subjects of the exchange were active citizenship, democracy and the fundamental values of European Union, like living together peacefully, tolerance and multicultural group work. During the days spent together we have researched the development level of the participating countries concerning social participation and active citizenship. We have examined what democracy and participation means to each individual, and in local, regional and national levels of the countries. Using the results of this research we created online materials, with the goal of rasing awareness of the importance of social participation and active citizenship amongst people, especially amongst youngsters. Our participants have developed communicational and executive strategies in order to carry out a major online campaign successfully in the 5th day of the exchange, the Day of Active Citizenship, which was one of the central elements of the whole project. The result of the day was to reach more than 3000 people indirectly, and spread the content created by us, also to publicize the main ideas of the exchange. Our project helped the learning processes of the participating youngsters (aged between 15-20), besides making active citizenship more popular, and initiate changes in society. We have emphasized the importance of learning through experimenting and non-formal education throughout the exchange, and the daily evaluation of national groups (lead by the groupleaders) helped the process become more conscious. During the project we have contacted many national and international NGOs in order to make our online campaign successful, and we asked our partner organizations to do the same. We made sure, that the results and created contents stay preserved, and that they will be used again and spread in Europe.
