From 29.07. - 07.08.2016, 24 young women from Hannover (Germany) and the Kurdish dominated city of Diyarbakir (Turkey), meet in Hannover to exchange views on topics of gender equality and gender politics. It comes during the youth exchange program to an intense exchange between the participants who work together even biographically the position of girls and women in their own family / society, in past and present times. Exemplary girls - and women's projects are visited in Hannover and compared with the situation and the need for comparable institutions in Diyarbakir. Workshops on self-awareness and self-defense round off the program. Finally, the participants becoming creative, developing thematic postcards, who are going to be printed and distributed later on in Hannover and Diyarbakir. They are developing requirements that they are going to address to the municipal politicians in Diyarbakir and Hannover. As part of a semi-public event the Kurdish participants will report about the situation of girls and women in Turkey and especially in Diyarbakir.
