Start date: Dec 31, 2011, End date: Dec 30, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED

Invasive plants are invasive species generally imported by man that thrive beyond their natural range of dispersal and have a high reproductive capacity. They are usually ornamental plants that are grown ingardens, ponds and aquariums. They overwhelm existing native vegetation and spread mainly in aquatic environments. As a result, invasive plant species invade aquatic environments, pose a threat to biodiversityand disrupt natural ecosystem processes. To solve this, the partners have developed a strategy to fight the proliferation of invasive plants. The strategy goes hand in hand with a communication and awareness campaign on this problem.
