lot4eng.com - Logistics Open Training for Engineering Competence

The idea lot4eng.com (Logistics Open Training for Engineering Competence) has been inspired by the shortage of logistics engineers, which has already been and is yet to be faced by many countries across Europe. The objective of this project is to enhance the engineering and managerial skills of employees at risk of developing a competence gap in the area of logistics, namely the employees of logistics, manufacturing, distribution enterprises, coaches, trainers and vocational trainers, to be accomplished by affording access to high quality e-learning materials. The selection of such a target group has been dictated by a labour market analysis. A logistics engineer will be one of the most sought-after professions in 2020 (Newsweek, 15 Oct 2010). A lot4eng.com communication platform, complementing the existing LogisticsTube environment, will ensure creating an on-line learning and social networking environment, capable of diagnosing competence needs as they arise (as a lot4eng.com communication platform, complementing the existing LogisticsTube environment) and for providing training materials tailored to the requirements of the ever-changing job market (by transferring products developed as part of the NEDLOG project, handling managerial competencies).
