The region of the Gulf of Riga lacks commoninstruments (common strategy andcooperation structures) to ensure socioeconomicallybalanced and sustainabledevelopment of the region as a whole.The main objective of the project is to fostercommon development and to enhancecompetitiveness of geographical territorieslocated in the coastal areas of the Gulf ofRiga, both in Estonia and Latvia, accordingto principles of balanced and sustainabledevelopment.The project helps to develop commonstrategic platform for development ofthe region and a mechanism for furthersustainable cooperation between regionsauthorities, develops common principles forsustainable development of coastal areasaround the Gulf of Riga, supports knowledgetransfer among the partners concerningenvironmental management and protectionspatial planning on coastal areas andcreates common tourist product LivonianRing.
