LISTEN TO MY HANDS-MEDIA FOR ALL
Start date: Aug 24, 2010,

The Youth of the Association of the Deaf of Thessaloniki has the vision that Deaf and hearing have equal access to information, education and entertainment. Working towards our vision we wish to deliver a project through which young people will be empowered to get practical knowledge on how to create media and through this to express themselves and communicate messages that are important for them. Moreover, both Deaf and hearing will be able to participate and interpreters will be used in order to translate from spoken English to International Sign Language and vice versa. Greece will be the hosting country and The Netherlands, Hungary and Latvia will participate in the project. For 11 days, 33 young people (half Deaf and half hearing) from the above mentioned countries will participate in the youth exchange "Listen to My Hands - Media for All". The learning method that will be used throughout the exchange is "learning by doing", which means that the participants will learn from their experience through reflection and sharing.
