The main topic of the project “Linking Cultures 3” will be the recovery actions able to give a new value and a new function to brownfields sites, abandoned and under-used areas of the urban fabric, thus creating social, cultural and aggregation space for the benefit of young people and of the local community. The specific objectives of the project, related to the main topic, are the promotion of active participation, of intercultural dialogue in urban fabric, working on capacity to think the future (for example throught a participatory urban planning) and of public communication skills. The project's activities will take place indoors and outdoors and will provide a constant interaction between the participants using mixed working groups and many opportunities to have an interaction with the locals. The project foresees the use of methods of non-formal learning: role playing, theater-forum, presentations, world-cafe, creative workshops for documentation and media production, circle-time, neighborhood walks, guerrilla-gardening , field observations and meetings with the local press and associations. The program will also allow to foster mutual knowledge between participants through the management of "national dinners" and "cultural evenings". The main output of the exchange will consist of a final event concerning the main topic; it will be designed and managed by the participants and it will be addressed to the local population and to youth. The project "Linking cultures 3" aims to promote the growth and the awareness of life-skills (social, cognitive and emotional) of the participants, to foster their awareness of being active citizens, their commitment and thier solidarity feelings, and to strengthen their language, communicational and digital skills. The project brings it to fulfillment a relationship between the partners started in 2012 and continued with two youth exchanges in Denmark and Latvia, which took place in 2013; therefore it is also proposed to start an enlargement of the network and a possibile extension of the activities thanks to the skills growth of the young team leaders.
