Linguistic globalization within the European context: usin ICT in F.L.L. and CLIL
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

This Project is framed under the school’s plan to develop the didactic and foreign languages competences of teachers and school staff. Thus, it intends to enhance the linguistic and didactic competences of eight of the school teachers, in order to implement the school’s bilingual character, foster cultural exchanges, and promote awareness of the European dimension, as well as contact with teachers of European and international backgrounds. The development of this plan will also favour the teachers’ use of foreign languages in real contexts, which will improve their linguistic and intercultural competences. Most of the staff taking part in this mobility project already have the adequate linguistic competence to carry out the structured courses and they are, in some cases, teachers of foreign languages, which makes it specially necessary for them to have a direct contact with the foreign language in a total immersion context. The benefits of these structured courses will be reflected in a substantial improvement of oral competences in foreign languages and didactic specialization in diverse backgrounds such as methodological ones, use of ICTs and intercultural awareness. As for the long term benefits of the project, contacts with teachers of other member countries of the UE are expected to be increased through several actions: use of the eTwinning platform to keep in touch with teachers from other countries; mobility of pupils and teachers via exchanges under the Erasmus + framework (implementing the ones already carried out by the school) to encourage students and staff awareness of the plurilingual and cultural diversity of present day Europe, or via job shadowing actions abroad, which will promote the exchange of professional experiences and the learning of new methodological approaches.
