Start date: Mar 1, 2015,
End date: Oct 31, 2015
This youth exchange project will take place in Ordu, in the province of Gülyalı, in the north coast of Turkey and Black Sea. The project is aimed for young people and the main theme is “ What one can do to lead a happier and healtier life”. Our main motives and objectives are stimulating eating healtily, being physically active, making use of sport equipments and meditation techniques, gaining awareness of health responsibility and so on.. The exchange project will continue for 9 days and participating countries are Italy, Slovenia, Kosovo, Romania and Turkey. There will be 8 participants from each partner country, 10 participants from Turkey, totally 42 participants including leaders. Examples of the activies that will be done during the project are performing various studies in groups or individual, such as role play activities, writing a script, performing interviews with local people, comparison of healthy and unhealty foods, preparing posters, exercising for a short period of time and so on. The youth exchange will give young people an opportunity to express their opinions, to undertake informal study of intriguing subjects, to make debate groups and express their opinions in creative ways. After practical workshops which introduce them to main aspects of healthy living, they will work in mixed groups and they will be organising the works: dividing tasks and roles, deciding the subject of their movies, writing narrative, conducting interviews and creating together a final product. We expect the results of the exchange project in long run to be really beneficial for the participants in their lives; because the activities we chose are generally the ones the results will be seen after the project has ended. If they grasp the actual objective of the project and carry out what they have learned from the exchange, they will be making a transition to a healthier life by changing their life styles. The exchange project will enable young people to better understanding of the above mentioned topics as well as to find interesting angles to look at them. The project will boost their creativity and will give them practical skills that could later be used in ordinary life. They will gain communication and team-work skills, as well as improve their knowledge about health and sports. Also, our projects give participants opportunity to explore some new cultures, to broad their knowledge about Turkish people and Turkey, to attend some social activities including historical places visits, natural places visit, swimming days, free time in the city center and barbeque parties.
