Let's Stop Segregation!

The project “Let's Stop Segregation!” is prepared for Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme. Our Project will be held in İstanbul on 6-11 September 2015 and 32 young participants (8 participants from each country including project leaders) will participate in the project from Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, and The Netherlands. The aims of our Project are to draw attention to racism, xenophobia, islamophobia and discrimination, to reflect the current issues about discrimination in Europe and to propose innovative solutions about those issues. The activities of the Project are formed in line with these objectives. Our participants will emphasize on the current activities about discrimination in participant countries at presentations and workshops, and try to find effective solutions. They will have chance to observe related studies through visiting activities and they will make evaluations in shared wisdom meetings. Besides, our participants will measure the perspective of public opinion about discrimination with questionnaire study and they will raise awareness and disseminate the project results through short film activity. Our Project emphasizes the values of respect to human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, superiority of law and the rights of minorities on the basis of 2nd Article of European Union Agreement. Starting from this point of view, raising awareness about the European Citizenship and the coexisting rights is one of the aims of our project. Our project is a great opportunity for young participants in terms of self development and experiences and also, in line with European Citizenship, standing against racism and discrimination. On the other hand, it is expected that our participants from different countries will contribute acculturation and develop the tolerance and solidarity, which are some of the aims of our project. All of the experiences and information which are gained during the project will be shared with the press and raising awareness activities of our project about racism, discrimination, xenophobia and islamophobia in Europe will reach the large masses.
