Let's Move
Start date: Aug 1, 2014, End date: Dec 31, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED

Little physical activity and movement among children is becoming a great issue. Young citizens obtain physical illnesses and have behavioral issues caused by little physical activity. The most of the time young people spend indoors and have no skills on spending leisure outdoors. We want to carry out this project because we care about our future societies and we have recourses to share with. Our project is about putting youth on the path to a healthy future. During our project youth will be shown that grassroots sports, active outdoor leisure and healthy lifestyle can be attractive, interesting and accessible no matter what are the opportunities of each one of them. The objective of the project is to foster youth to spend their leisure actively and give them basic skills to live healthier lifestyle. With this project we raise certain tasks. 1. We want to introduce youth with the ability to practice grassroots sports in their environment. 2. We will give proper skills to practice grassroots sports and active outdoor leisure. 3. We will introduce youth to the basics of healthy lifestyle and will give them proper skills to practice it in their environment. We invite participants age 13-14 years old from different background. We expect to have half of participant who are active during their leisure and practice grassroots sports and the other half of the participants are expected to have little or no skills in practicing grassroots sports or active leisure. Most of the activities will be held in the outside facilities. During the project participants will be provided with the setting so they have possibilities to exchange their experience in active leisure. Workshops with professionals from different partner countries will ensure the quality of skills youth obtain and safety during workshops. Youth will be presented with different and attractive morning workouts, they will have workshops on certain sports, active outside games and cooking, will attend meetings with professional sportsmen or medical doctors who will share their experience with the youth. In the afternoon participant will have free of programme time to socialize with each other. Evenings will be dedicated to getting to know each other while all participant countries will present themselves during the evening programme. All activities will be held in an informal environment. The forms of the activities used in this projects will be workshops, seminars, discussions and informal meeting with the guests of the programme (professionals from local institutions). Participants will be offered hiking, kayaking as a part of active leisure. We expect that the participants of the programme will obtain certain skills and interest on active and healthy leisure and will change their habits in their environment. We also expect them to share their new skills and knowledge with youth of their community by involving them into the small projects that participants will be assigned to do in their community after the youth exchange.
