Our school, “Elementary school and Kindergarten Karlovice” is a modern and active school that tries to react and implement new ways in teaching and innovating the established ones. The school is situated on the outskirts of the Moravian-Silesian Region near the border with Poland. Teaching takes place in two kindergarten classrooms (32 children), in the 1. - 9. Elementary school grades (132 children), in two child care rooms (50 children) and in two school-club rooms (46 pupils); the school has its own cafeteria.26 employees take care of the school of which 18 are in teaching positions. All teachers are fully qualified, many of them have more than two special trainings also the child-care workers and two teacher assistants fulfill the qualification requirements. We plan to integrate 5 fully qualified teachers into the European mobility and cooperation activities according to profession development in foreign countries. We are going to continuously implement into our teachings gained knowledge, abilities and skills from abroad through the method CLIL, project lessons and activities. The objective of the project is to raise the quality of education. The method CLIL is becoming the standard in the Czech education system and its implementation and expansion is our primary goal. We regularly discuss the implementation of new methods, in the case of CLIL there comes to mind a question of consistency, inadequate methodical abilities and insufficient linguistic teacher competencies. We feel that these flaws may be a handicap for the school and that is why we want to address them so that they do not negatively influence our pupils` education results. Because our school is located in an excluded region and is vulnerable to all kinds of socio-pathological phenomenon our pupils` out of school activities are limited.We want to become leaders in implementing modern methods in our region and want to show the surrounding schools examples of good practice. After the teachers complete the training we expect that they use their newly gained knowledge and abilities in our school. We expect them to implement the new approaches and methods to increase the level and attractiveness of teaching. The secondary objective is the school internationalization through extending abilities and skills of our teachers and pupils with the possibility of creating a network of school relations and cooperating with an appropriate foreign school.These objectives are in co-ordinance with our school's European development plan. Our main focus is the support of our employees` professional growth in the area of education and to increase the capacity and international importance of our organization so that we will be able to offer programs and activities that react better to the needs of individuals. These two requirements are also the priorities of the Erasmus+ program in the area of mobility.
