Let’s Make It Happen – a Shift into Learning Outcomes in the Welding Sector

The main aim of Let’s Make It Happen – a Shift into Learning Outcomes in the Welding Sector / MAKE IT project, set to address the Manufacturing & Engineering sector, is to develop a European sector-oriented qualification system through the exchange among EU partners of an innovative training curriculum.The curriculum is designed for an intermediate level of qualification named “Welding Practitioner”, along with the recognition and validation of a competence process for this qualification. EQF and ECVET methodologies are applied to this curriculum, as well as work-based learning, targeting the introduction of an Assessment and Recognition of Prior Learning Model among EU partners that are already providing the training but don´t have recognition and validation of the qualifications processes established.Another set of objectives is to be developed containing, inter alia:- Identification of common procedures and gaps regarding welding practitioner qualification profile in the EU countries- Establishment of an operational framework to develop a model based on EQF levels, boosting the recognition and transfer of credits by applying ECVET methodology and tools- Enhance trainers in the field of welding sector, skills and competencies by promoting exchange of successful pedagogical methods and practices between teachers and trainers from VET- Development of an EU Network to stimulate future cooperation and mobility in the field of education and workThe MAKE IT project comes in complete accordance with the aim of the KA2, namely the SSA, contributing to the design and delivery of a joint VET programme, developing teaching and training methodologies, being focused on an important economic sector for the EU community, with sector-specific, well identified professional needs.
