This is a group EVS project in Armenia for a period of 2 months during July-August 2012 involving 12 volunteers from Hungary, Latvia, Romania and Slovakia. There will be 3 volunteers from each country. The themes of the project are art and culture and urban/rural development. The main activity of the volunteers will be to assist the host organization, ICIRLD to prepare and implement educational summer camps in various regions in Armenia. The EVS volunteers will actively participate in the preparation and implementation of the educational summer camps, including outdoor training modules on concept of culture, intercultural learning, and European structures and programmes. The objectives of the project are: fostering intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding between the volunteers and Armenian young people (also from deprived urban and rural areas) while raising their intercultural sensitivity, raising the awareness of EVS volunteers and young people from excluded urban and rural areas in Armenia on European Cooperation and Values while raising the sense of Active European Citizenship, developing the cooperation between sending and host organisations and planning other future projects within ‘Youth in Action’ programme, promoting ‘Youth in Action’ Programme among NGOs in distant regions in Armenia and later on motivating and supporting them to apply for accreditation and become EVS host organisations.
