The teachers of Grund- und Mittelschule Kirchheim are teaching more and more children of refugees or chidren from other Europeen countries, who don't speak German. Therefore thea have to explain the contents of the lessons in English for them. That's why it's essential that tehy speak a good English. In addition they teach English for all pupils of our school.By taking part in a speech- and language course at "confluence Scotland" the teachers shall enhance their faculty of speech in an english-speaking country and learn new methods of expertising English to German teenagers.Two of our teachers will take part in that speech- and language course in Edinburgh/Scotland named above. They teach English in grade 5-9 for several years. Further tere are children of refugees in their classes and they have to communicate in English with them. The course will be held in English. The participants will develop their discursive skills, update their methodology and exchange ideas for good practice in the classroom. The aims of this Secondary school teachers’ courses are to develop cultural awareness and understanding of contemporary Britain and focusing on Scotland, to enhance methodological expertise in the teaching of English to teenagers, to enhance participants’ discursive skills, update their vocabulary and gain new ideas and materials for use in the classroom, to use Internet and other ICT resources in the classroom, to use novels, short stories, songs and varied media in the classroom and to debate current issues and to (re)discover contemporary British personalities.The participants should plan their lessons with the updated methodical skills and feel safe with speaking English in these lessons. They pass the new methods to their collegues by a skill enhancement.
