LEILA 2015 - Language & Experience in Industry, Logistics & Administration
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project "Language & Experience in Industry, Logistics & Administration" (LEILA 2015) enables 66 students in initial vocational training as well as one teacher to implement traineeships in companies abroad. Sending and coordinating organisation in this project is the "Herwig-Blankertz-Schule Hofgeismar/ Wolfhagen". Our school has got several years' experience in preparing, managing and evaluating European-funded mobility projects. By taking part in European projects, we would like to highlight the international aspects in vocational training. Main host organisations are Škoda in Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic and Tellus Ltd. and in Plymouth and Portsmouth, United Kingdom. The traineeships take place in industrial mechanics, logistics and administration; they last between two and three weeks. The project aims at an additional qualification of the participants: They improve their foreign language skills and their hard skills in their special area of vocational training. At the same time, their willingness for professional mobility in the future rises significantly and they enhance the chances to find employment after they have finished their vocational qualification. All in all, we would like to help our students to know what it is like to live and work in Europe.
