Lehrerfortbildung im Kontext der Internationalisierung
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

It is one of our school's goal to prepare our students for an internationally linked working world. Due to this Frankenlandschule Walldürn is about to push its internationalisation. Currently, the school offers a wide range of opportunities to its students. Since 2011 students attend lessons in International Business and Economics. These students and others of our sixth form take part in several excursions to countries all over the world and some of them already participated in several eTwinning projects, too. Since 2012/2013 our trainees participate in Erasmus+ programmes regularly. In 2014 a cooperation between Galway and Roscommon Education & Training Board in Athenry, Ireland and Frankenlandschule Walldürn was established. In 2016/2017 it is planned to establish a cooperation between IES Tirant lo Blanc in Gandia, Spain and Frankenlandschule Walldürn.Against the background of internationalisation we have formed a team which is in charge of organising the above mentioned projects. Five team members are going to take part in this Erasmus+ programme to strengthen our ties with current European partners and establish new contacts with possible European partners. These team members all teach foreign languages and or bilingual lessons at Frankenlandschule Walldürn. They have already worked in the field of Erasmus+ programmes, Comenius programmes and eTwinning. During their stay in Galway/Valencia they will get to know more about the Irish/Spanish culture and its traditions and habits. Due to the language courses at Bridge Mills Galway language centre/AIP Language and cultural excursions they will improve both their language/cultural skills and the competent use of modern technologies in the classroom. Our students will benefit from these outcoming results in the short term and in the long term. The teachers' improvement in language skills and cultural awareness will bring Ireland's/Spain's traditions into the local classroom and will offer rather individualised lessons. Additionally, participating in this Erasmus+ programme helps to strengthen the path into internationalisation and cooperation with European partners. This enables Frankenlandschule Walldürn and its staff to add the international aspect to its school development.
