Learning pathway - decentralized cooperation
The Limburg platform for Romania working groups NGO (LimPRo) develops for its volunteers and local groups a learning pathway about decentralized cooperation with the aim to renew their local actions. LimPRo also wants to establish a structured cooperation between the provinces of Limburg and Iasi. After all, 25 years ago the Romanian cooperation started as a response to the systematization plan of Ceausescu, in which 8000 of the 13000 villages were threatened to be destroyed. In Europe solidarity actions were developed. In the first phase adoptions of Romanian small villages and humanitarian actions were realized. After a few years more structural projects were developed. Currently more than 20 years later, there are still many local groups active in working with their Romanian partner. But also new initiatives are created.
Today local Limburg Romania working groups are looking for a renewed work program for the coming years. To help them to do this a learning pathway was developed, consisting of three components:
1. The organization of preparatory courses about contemporary aspects of Romanian society (August- September 2015)
2. Participation in the Romanian Belgian decentralized cooperation forum and site visits (November 2015).
3. Feedback and writing concrete action plans (January to March 2016).
Using formal, non-formal and informal learning, participants will be able to write a program for the future. Particular attention is paid to the implementation of the Europe 2020 strategy at local and regional level in a transnational context.
