YouNet is an organization strongly involved in the provision of educational activities for adults such as senior volunteering, training courses for NGO workers, implementation of workshops, informational activities and awareness raising campaigns. In response to general problems such as the lack of competences of employees within small organizations operating in the same field, YouNet implemented a tailor made survey among its staff members so to analyse and understand better how the problem could be tackled. As a result, some key needs have been identified and therefore the project objectives have been set up accordingly in order to respond in an adequate way to the stated problem. In these regards, the main aim of the project is to provide YouNet staff members with opportunities to improve their knowledge and competences in a way to support adult learning and European mobility. “Learning in Europe” aims directly at improving the quality and increasing the volume of cooperation and exchange between staff and organizations involved in the field of adult learning while strengthening their capacity. In particular the project focuses on 3 main axes setting up the following objectives: - To improve the competences of YouNet staff and to innovate its approaches of delivering adult educational activities; - To strengthen YouNet transnational cooperation and to allow better exchange with organizations involved in the field of adult learning; - To improve the management capacities and coordination processes within YouNet related to adult education and mobility projects. The project will involve 12 key staff members of YouNet in 6 international learning mobility activities allowing them to gain competences tailored to their needs expressed in prior. Participants who will take part in the project have already been identified through specific selection process, involving documentation of the procedure and its full transparency, so to ensure equality in the access of such opportunities to all staff. The project plans the participation of YouNet staff members in 5 training courses and 1 job-shadowing experience. The training courses are dedicated to language capacity improvements, as well as fostering of communication skills and intercultural awareness and understanding, as well as managerial, team work and leadership skills of the participants. The job-shadowing experience involves networking and learning about the introduction and use of ICT tools for adult education, meant to increase the innovative working approaches of YouNet in this field. All activities have already been chosen through European online platforms and tools, and will be delivered through highly practical and learning by doing approach, implemented through non formal educational methods.Through the such designed project YouNet staff members will gain increased competences in terms of foreign language fluency, intercultural understanding, abilities to use new technologies, methods and ICT tools in education, will acquire knowledge and skills in broader areas of management and coordination, communication, teamwork and leadership. Staff members will apply the gained abilities in their daily work and will contribute to the strategic development of the organization according to the clearly established in prior goals. Those competences will be useful for them in order to enhance their capabilities for career development and professional growth as well as to become better employable.Besides on participants, the project focuses on providing long term impact on YouNet which refers to:- further developed capacities in several fields (more efficient management of resources and international projects, intercultural awareness and understanding, language competences, use of new technologies for education), as well as increased contacts and development of international networking activities- Improved competences of staff and thus increased organizational capacity in offering high-quality service to its learners and beneficiaries of its activities; strengthened transnational cooperation and exchange among organizations involved in European learning for adults; - possibility to develop new learning activities and update current ongoing programmes according to the specific needs of the learners thanks to new tools and methods to be brought by this project and the improvement of the management and coordination processes for European education and mobility within the organization.Through the project YouNet will gain experience in terms of best practices and will start to work towards improved processes in the field of adult education so to transfer such results to other entities and partners in its work.
