Context:As a school we need to qualify our students to navigate in a challenging world, where climate environmental issues are increasingly important factors to address as educational institution.Among the teaching staff there is also a growing need for tools and competences in how to include everyone, and at the same time to be able to maintain a progression in learning. We aim to focus our efforts in an approach to students enhancing skills expected to be vital in the 21st century.Objectives: Developing new cross-borders networks for educational areas, enhancing skills as: Creativity, Cooperation, Critical thinking, Communication, Acting sustainablyDeveloping our practices in order to meet the demands we face as teachers in a rapidly changing global societyBackground: A secondary school with 635 pupils in a suburb to Aarhus. Our school is part of the west schools in Aarhus, schools with an important percentage of immigrants. Our pupils, who are mainly ethnic Danes, continue in youth educations in schools with strong multicultural profiles. We see that as an asset, and our goal is to prepare our pupils, and develop their intercultural understanding and sensitivity. Envisioned mobilities:First year:4 mobilities participating in conferences on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).2 mobilities participating in a sustainable course4 mobilities for job shadowing: 2 to Barcelona, One to Vienna, 1 to Nowy SatzSecond year :4 mobilities participating in conferences on Education for Sustainable Development.4 mobilities participating in a creativity course and Eco-schools course4 mobilities for job shadowing, partly in Vienna, partly to BarcelonaDescription of activities: Participation in courses and conferences about Sustainability in Education and Creativity/ Innovation in Education.Teachers will Job-shadow in partner schools, chosen because of their work with ICT and experiences with new ways of structuring education. Another goal for job-shadowing is to develop our international network, getting more teachers from partner schools to network cross-borders in the future, and more teachers to benefit from the results obtained through our European partnership in seminars concerning developing EST ( Education in Sustainable Teaching), and GAP ( Global Action Programme) Furthermore teachers will attend Courses in innovation& creativity.Methodology to be used in carrying out the project: study, experiments, correlational research cross-borders, network- and teambuilding, field- and observational study through job-shadowing, surveys, evaluation of results.Short description of the results and impact envisaged: Teachers will be better equipped to face the challenges of improving the pupils learning and understanding of their future role as global citizens, through close cooperation with European partners, both on teachers and head teacher level.Pupils will develop positive intercultural sensitivity and skills as language, communication, critical thinking, ITC and knowledge about other cultures.Potential longer term benefits: A visible impact on our teaching practices in everyday school-life, for the benefit of the outcome of our pupils studies. Learning from practitioners and specialists cross-cultural. Developing new cross-borders networks for educational areas as : Sustainability, International dimension, Critical thinking and Creativity.Developing the cultural sensitivity and skills of our students.
