LEARNERS FOR LIFE! OBJECTIVES- To raise standards of attainment in basic skills and digital and linguistic competence in all partner schools To improve the quality of teaching in basic skills and transversal skills of learning foreign languages and improving teacher and pupil skills in using new technologies to enhance learning across all subjects To build capacity in schools to secure high quality teaching and learning over time Partnership Schools Six primary schools from UK, GERMANY, FRANCE, SWEDEN AND NETHERLANDS, the majority of which have extensive experience in partnership working in previous European funded initiatives. Two of the partner schools are new to the life long learning programme. Activities * A series of carefully organised and structured project meetings will be held throughout the partnership with a specific theme based on the subjects targeted- maths, reading writing, oracy, languages and ICT * During these meetings, teacher will work together on aspects of teaching and learning of the basic skills. They will be based on a workshop format and include study of the pedagogy around the teaching of the subject and observations of strategies in practice through lesson observations * Following their return to their own school, each teacher who had attended will deliver the outcomes in a whole school staff meeting and Leaders of Learning in each school will coach their colleagues in the strategies Senior leaders will monitor the quality of teaching to ensure strategies are implemented and impact measured on pupil attainment *A partnership Learning Platform will be built and used as source of reference for resources and materials to be used in each school to improve the quality of teaching. Materials will be translated in each partner language * A comprehensive model of monitoring and Evaluation will be implemented in each school to ensure the continuing improvement in teaching * Leaders of Learning in each school will be developed as coaches to conduct co coaching and peer coaching in their schools on the improved teaching strategies learned and shared amongst all partners * Attainment in the basic skills of all groups of learners will be expected to have improved because of high quality teaching as well as their linguistic and digital competence Schools will have built capacity in their organisation to secure sustainability in the high quality of teaching and learning and they will be able to disseminate this to other schools The Learning Platform will continue beyond the partnership and will be in the public domain for other teachers to use the resources and strategies
