The project will take place in a state school from kindergarten(age5) to primary 6th of double-lined school with a total of 391 students and 26 teachers. The school (Escola Bertí) is located in a small town near Barcelona, L'Ametlla del Vallès. The teachers involved in the mobility are three teachers of primary education. One of the main objectives is to transfer the information received in the mobility to involve all members of the school. The teachers involved in the mobility project have as objective be to formed in various areas in order to improve their skills to have a direct impact on the acquisition of the English language, and thus reach in a short term an internationalized School. The areas to be improved are: linguistic competence in English, acquisition of didactic and methodological resources to improve teaching , and training in CLIL to optimise the methodology used when we teach science in English. All of this will affect the increase of the presence of the English language in more areas of the curriculum, the improvement of the teacher's communicative competence and, consequently, on the level of English of the students. Our goals in this project are: - To improve oral and writen comprehension in English.- To internationalize the school to ensure that it becomes a trilingual school where English language is as important as the two official languages (Catalan and Spanish).-To acquire new methodological and didactic resources to improve CLIL teaching . -To teach Science in English in all primary courses. The proposed activities that are going to enable the achievement of the proposed objectives are: - In kindergarten year 5-Speaking activities using flashcards, stories, audio, songs, and both individual and group dynamic games. - - -1st and 2nd grades of primary:- Speaking activities using posters, flashcards, audio, songs and games. The materials used in the classroom are digitalized and let the students interact and manipulate them to do writing activities and to use thevocabulary which is part of their daily life which is introduced using new technologies (ICT, digital Whiteboard).- Writing activities using very simple structures.- Using CLIL methodology to teach Science.-Take advantage of the eTwinning platform to contact schools in other countries. -3rd and 4th grades: - Speaking and writing activities using more complex syntactic structures and listening comprehension activities from audios.-Introduction of more specific vocabulary related to the interests of students . -Use the CLIL methodology to teach Science.-Take advantage of the eTwinning platform to contact schools in other countries to learn about different cultures and customs. - 5th & 6th grades:-writing exercises using different kinds of texts and having different models such as: charts, descriptions, stories, etc.-Speaking activities led by the teacher thorought questions based on texts that have been seen in class .We use the eTwinning platform for contact schools in other countries to communicate and learn about different cultures and customs. Students exchange letters or work with students from other centres. -Educational community-level:- all information addressed to families is going to be communicated using the three languages.- -"English day" involves all the students and teachers in a day where the common language will be English. There will be workshops and lots of activities .- We aim to boost comprehension and oral and written expression. Our intention is to use the English language all day long, even duringl lunch time. As a result of all this work, we hope to improve the knoweledge of our students and raise their communicative competence in foreign language. These results will be assessed at the end of the course using various tests: - exams about the topics, internal tests developed by the Department of foreign language Center-external test (basic skills) raised by the Generalitat de Catalunya. We expect, in the long term, to improve the level of English-language our students and become a trilingual school.
