Learn from the best
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jun 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The debate about the future of education in Flanders is still going own. But as school we don't want to wait on the final decisions. We notice that the reform of "classic" education to a newer, more modern form of education is essential if we want to become a school of the future? To make this happen we think a good way is to "learn from te best". It's no use that all school try to think of good approachs. There's a lot of high level examples of best practices already in Europe. We want to learn form these experiences and combine them with our own quality. This way we feel we can become the school we want to be. Practically this means we want send staff to 4 structured training activiteis and set up a job shadowing activity with another school. Staff at GO! SO Zenit Turnhout can apply for these activities. Those who are excepted will have to take on some additional assigments, that will be described in a "learning agreement". With this learning agreement we want to have a structured approach on implementing the knowledge and skills learned into our daily practice. As a school who expect to see improvements on teaching with new pedagogies and more international collaboration as a way to achieve curricular and extra-curricular goals. In the long run we hope to see a bigger culture shift towards lifelong learning (as well for staff as for pupils) and kids having fun learning. Of course we also hope that this will have a positive impact on the number of pupils at our school.
