New health care demands, development of technologies create new challenges for health care professionals, who should be equipped with skills and competencies to be effective at the job market. This is especially true for public health (PH) which is a very dynamic field. PH professionals face a problem of developing knowledge gaps. Current project is based on the results of the needs analysis on the demand and supply of LLL courses for PH professionals. The goal of the project is: to develop a problem-based, blended-learning(PBL/BL) module on leadership for European PH professionals. The main results of the project will be (1) a module on leadership for European PH professionals including educational interactive e-learning materials in a PBL/BL format which will be available in English, Dutch, German and Lithuanian, (2) trained staff in partner institutions in the delivery of blended learning courses, (3) evaluation of the effectiveness of the PBL/BL practice in partner countries, quality assurance mechanisms, (4) educational blended learning network comprising partner countries, final conference and the report as well as (5) a central repository (interactive web-page), scientific publication(s) on the practice developed, international conferences workshops. The project aims to be beneficiary for PH professionals, academic tutors, lecturers and partner universities. At long term, besides PH employers, also professional organizations and higher education institutions will profit from the project as it will have impact through the numbers of trained professionals and the impact their acquired competencies will have on PH practice and dissemination activities (publications, conferences etc). Finally, the implementation of the Module in partner institutions as well as advertisement of the new innovative educational offer on Leadership in PH at ASPHER (www. aspher.org) web page will have a relevant impact on PH field
