Five teachers from our highschool in Bois D'olive, are involved in professional training courses in Europe. They hope it will improve their teaching skills either in the subject they teach or in DNL : non linguistic subject ( history & geography for example) taught in English or Spanish, as well as in ETLV (joint teaching of technical courses in English). What they also got from this training course is a fruitful exchange with teachers of different subjects and from other countries with different school systems in order to deepen their reflection on their own working experience, and to improve their team work so as to stimulate their pupils and inspire their colleagues. They started to build on the linguistic benefits and the interactivity made possible through the training courses to create a network of lasting European contacts from which our highschool and the other schools in the area will benefit. Therefore with the concourse of the managing staff whose members are involved in all the stages of this project and who are willing to promote it, they form the base of the European Development Project steering committee. This European Development Project forms a new albeit important part of our highschool's strategy to develop contacts with foreign countries - through training courses, sharing teaching experiences, partnerships etc - and to broaden our pupils' and our staff's horizons. Their experience with both its immediate impact and long term achievements such as training colleagues, setting up educational projects for our pupils and pupils from the neighbouring schools, and finally promoting other training courses abroad, will be determining to create international partnerships for our highschool and thus give our students and staff a renewed ambition.
