Laying the fundaments for a transparant school organisation based on internal and external influences
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Vocational schools have to invest in the future . Innovation or standstill? Which option to chose? And why innovate? As a vocational school we offer courses which prepare our pupils for the employmentmarket, a market that develops very quickly within a changing society. Pupils not only need to be prepared for technical aspects but also (inter)cultural elements. Our school aims at 5 domains, all related to eachother. Innovating teaching methods, ICT, assessment, learning difficulties and learning problems and finaly innovation within the curriculum. Although our teachers still teach in a classical way they also realise the needs for coaching instead of teaching. To improve their own competences and those of the pupils by means of integration within the lessons of ict-applications and projectteaching. This to emphasize the believes in themselves for the pupils and discover competences they didn't know off. Also for students with learning dissablilities and learning problems. To introduce assessment which evaluates different competences and attitudes and not only knowledge. And last but not least to influence the curriculum evolving from STEM tot STE(A)M. The participating teachers have a varied background; general education teachers, vocational teachers and the director of the school. All convinced of their knowledge and the will to change. Teachers who will share their insight in a convincing way by means of meetings, trials and consolidation and who will judge the instruments by SMART criteria and PDCA cycles. This positive story should persuade colleagues that periodic training is necessary, including international ones. The intention is that coaches/teachers, togheter with their pupils engage themselves for job-shadowing and mobilities within the ERASMUS+ program.
