Project "Summer of playground integration" is an EVS project where we want to engage six volunteers from Romania. We hope to invite in the project also volunteers with fewer opportunities - representatives of the Roma community are specially welcome. Volunteers will work in Wroclaw. The theme of the project is education, sports and art, which will be leaded by EVS volunteers. Activities will be carried out mainly in the fresh air, for children and young people, especially those one socially excluded. The target group will be mainly children from romanian Roma community, from the camp based on Kamienskiego street in Wroclaw. The main objective of the project is to integrate Roma and Polish children living next to each other without having good or any contacts. We also want to be sure that this children who can not spend summer away from home, will get possibility of interesting, active, healthy and safe leisure time. This model program has been successfully implemented for several years in Wroclaw, in 2010 and 2011 in Lviv (Ukraine), in 2012 and 2013 in Zugdidi (Georgia) and in 2013 in Boleslawiec. Working methods will be outdoor activities, which will combine elements of non-formal education activities, sports and leisure and artistic activities carried out by volunteers on the playground, in the park and camp where Roma community lives. We want to invite in activities at the same time girls and boys, and both Roma and Polish children, proposing different types of activities, not only football, but also art, dance and theater classes. The long-term goal of the project is to break down mutual stereotypes, fear and mutual prejudices between Polish and Roma communities.
