Presentation This project is written for the ERASMUS+ call for proposals for European mobility. The applicant institution is IES Luis Seoane, a state secondary school located in Pontevedra (Spain). The aim of this project is getting funding to send a teacher to the secondary school “Agrupamento de Escolas Aquilino Ribeiro” located in Porto Salvo (Portugal) in order to do a job shadowing in the field of key competences teaching. Project On one hand IES Luis Seoane is implementing a teachers training project, funded by the Galician regional ministry for education, called “Putting key competences into practice”. Through different activities planned for the school year 2013-14 it is intended that a group of teachers thoroughly analyse the concept of competence learning, particularly focusing on the design of teaching and competence assessment activities. On the other hand we have already contacted our partner school through the UNESCO Associated Schools Network (both schools are associated) and the Comenius project that we are implementing together with two other schools. This has been essential to get aware about its teaching methods, based on key competences learning, and its socioeconomic context, similar to ours. Specifically, we would like to send a teacher in order to study the following matters: - Syllabus of different subjects. - Pre-designed class activities. - Multidisciplinary projects. - Assessment activities. - Organisation of human and material resources for the points above. After the stay, the observer will have to: - Analyse the class activities and syllabus in the hosting institution and compare them to the ones carried out at ours, especially focusing on key competences. - Draw up a report about the hosting institution's organisation as far as human and material resources are concerned. - Spread the above-mentioned analysis and reports among the participants of the teachers training project by organising a seminar. - Promote the experience and the acquired knowledge so that it gains visibility for the local teaching community in the area of Pontevedra, using the infrastructure of CEFORE (regional institution specialised in training and resources for teaching staff).
