Start date: Feb 28, 2005, End date: Nov 29, 2006 PROJECT  FINISHED

The general purpose of the project is the enhancement of Venice Northern lagoon and of the Upper Adriatic main wetlands, through the creation of naturalistic-cultural itineraries, which enable an integrated fruition of the territory. After some preliminary studies and surveys on the routes and the definition of a marketing plan, the joint promotion of thematic itineraries is carried out through specific promotional tool, namely a set containing the maps of cycling--pedestrian tracks and a promotional website. The study phase and the preparation of promotional materials are followed by the third phase of coordination and dissemination of results and an exchange of good practices. The promotion of Venice Northern lagoon is pursued through a customer-oriented programme. Every action must be planned in a market perspective. The preliminary research and the project initiatives must follow a tourist marketing approach, an element which so far has been missing in previous activities of this sector. The project intends therefore to reach new sectors in the tourist market with an interest in high-quality cultural and naturalistic offers, by involving the traditional tourist operators, to widen their supply and to extend the tourist season. Lastly, the project aims at consolidating the visibility of operators who are specialized in environmental tourism and setting up a permanent coordination between institutions and administrations that are in charge of the lagoon territory.
