Start date: Aug 1, 2016,
End date: Jul 31, 2017
In the project "Learning goal oriented teaching in a European perspective" teachers, pedagogues and managers are trained in working with learning goal based teaching at Egebakkeskolen. The project is a part of the school's European development plan. The purpose of the project is to increase the European dimension at the school and to give teachers, pedagogues and managers new competences and tools, when working with learning goal based teaching.18 teachers, eight pedagogues and two leaders will take part in this project. The background of the project is that the school, based on a investigation, have established that there is a need among the staff for learning goal based teaching and a need for activities which strengthens the international dimensions of the school. The school has through out the last couple of years worked on raising the students awareness about their learning proces and what they are learning. This basic condition is now well integrated at the school. It is therefore a natural continuation to focus on learning goal based teaching, because to increased the focus on and management of the learning goals both for the individual student and the class, will increase the effectiveness of teaching. We also have a need for staff to attend international training activities in order to give them the experience and to train them to further integrate the international dimensions of their work at the school. The project runs from August 2016 to June 2017 conducted by the school which is working with the theme: learning goal based educational and recreational activities. During the autumn, the theme will be discussed at staff meetings and the staff will work with it in teams, in preparation for the study tour which will take place in November. The programme of the educationel journey will be planned by the school's leader team together with a Norwegian partner. During the educationel journea, the staff will develop skills and get tools enabling them to plan their own teaching as a learning goal based teaching. The study tour will consist of a mixture of presentations, practical work in teams and hands-on practise. The languages of the teachers' training tour is English and possibly Norwegian. After the study tour staff will again, in teams, work on planning learning goal based leasons. This continues throughout the project. The long-term effects of the educationel journey will be the teaching at Egebakkeskolen in the future is more learning goal oriented and thus more effective. Another effect is that the staff has got so much experience in international work that the international dimension is naturally integrated into more and more elements of the school organisation and thus it is less dependent on the efforts of individual persons. Finally, the project is helping to nurture and develop students as future European citizen.
